Artist Statement: This piece aims to serve as a meditation on the beauty of simplicity and the power of nature. Through the minimal colour palette utilised across this artwork, I aim to evoke a profound sense of awe and wonder as it strips away the extraneous details and emphasises the graceful movement and sheer presence of the whale shark.
As easy as it is to remove the background from this whale shark, it's equally easy to ignore the presence of these creatures in our world when we are not reminded of them regularly. The ominous nature of marine life can often be the cause for intimidation of the vast underwater world. By focussing solely on the detail and form of this one creature, I hope to create a presence that evokes appreciation
