Artist Statement:

The details enveloping this sculpture are reflective of the oceans effect on the Sharks appearance. It exaggerates the concept that even small external factors can have an influence. It aims to communicate the inherent fragility and powerlessness that even the most robust creatures can experience in the face of external forces. Despite their apparent dominance in their natural habitat, hammerhead sharks face a precarious future due to the environmental challenges and human impact they confront.

By displaying this sculpture with the human scale in mind, the viewer is encouraged to relate to the hammerhead in a way that would seem nearly impossible in the natural world.
